Why can't I draft 10 quarterbacks? At some point in August, I thought it would be a good idea to initiate my oldest son, Mason, into the realm of fantasy football. My son and I have gone on a few sports journeys through the years—cheering for our Wizards as they ran deep into the Eastern Conference playoffs, avidly watching our beloved Nationals compete against a crowded NL East, filling out March Madness brackets, and staying up late to watch the Washington Capitals run through the playoffs on their way to winning the Stanley Cup. These experiences introduced and exposed him to the joys (and pains) of live sports. But there is possibly no greater or more interactive sports experience than fantasy sports. Drafting and building team. Watching the results. Looking in anguish as a player you wanted or dropped affected your team directly. Watching college basketball, however, presented new opportunities to have fun with the experience. We’d bet who would have to unload the
Stories, Tales, Explainers and quite possibly too much baseball.
